Wingate -- Alfred E. "Hom" Harmon 65 a life resident of this community died at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where he was admitted Monday after being stricken while at his work. He was manager for about 25 years of the Farm Bureau CoOp Elevator here and later employed at Pittman Auto Co. at Hillsboro. At the time of his last illness he was employed at the New Richmond Bar & Grill. Mr. Harmon was a son of Addison & Mary harmon and was born northwest of Wingate March 1, 1905. He attended the Wingate schools and was married Oct 26, 1925 to Glee Hutchins of this community. He was a member and past master of Wingate Lodge 633 F&AM. Surviving are his wife, a son Robert E of Plainfield; a daughter, Mrs. Fauneil Patton of Bartonsville, Ill and 3 grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev.Jean McCan the minister and itnerment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wingate. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday.
